Objectives of the Vidyasiri Scholarship Scheme
The main objective of the Vidyasiri scholarship is to help the backward classes an SC/ST/OBC category students of Karnataka through financial aid. Students who have not secured any departmental and government hostel while doing their post-matric education will be eligible for this scholarship.
Types of Vidyasiri Scholarships & Rewards
1. Free Hostel Accommodation / Fee for Post-Matric Courses
- Reward: Full course fee waiver + free hostel facility
- Eligibility: Candidates who passed 10th and enrolled in the post-matric course can apply for this scholarship.
2. Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship
- Reward: ₹1,500/month for 10 months (₹15,000/year)

Eligibility Criteria for Vidyasiri Scholarship 2025
Candidates must have meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship.
Eligibility for Free Hostel Accommodation
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
- The student must be enrolled in a PUC II or Post-Matriculation course in a college outside their local municipal/corporation limits.
- Family income must not exceed INR 2,50,000 per year.
- Category-wise all candidates must have secured the minimum marks in their qualifying exam is:
- SC/ST, OBC, BC, and PwD category: at least 40% marks
- 2A, 3A, and 3B categories: minimum 50% or more
Eligibility for Prathibha Puraskar
- Students must have secured minimum of 90% marks in SSLC or PUC examinations.
- Candidate’s family income limit should be less than:
- For Category-1 (SC/ST/OBC/PwD): less than INR 1,00,000 annually.
- For students 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B category: less than INR 2,50,000 annually.
- Candidates should have pursue their professional or higher education course from institute approved by Karnataka state.
