The scheme was initially launched as a Free Laptop Distribution Scheme but now the Government has converted it into a Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) scheme which is in effect from 2020-21.
Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Scheme was launched in 2013 by Chief Minister Mr Naveen Patnaik. In the last 11th years, the free LAPTOP DBT scheme has had tremendous success.
A total of 15000 students across the state get the benefits from this scheme every year. A budget of Rs.45 crores has been sanctioned for this scheme.

- If you are interested in applying, you should be a permanent resident of Odisha.
- Students, who have passed the Annual Higher Secondary Examination (+2), 2023 in Science/Arts/Commerce/Vocational Stream conducted by CHSE, Odisha.
- Candidates who qualify for the free laptop must have received good grades. Those who achieved a 70% or higher final exam score will be chosen.
- Your age must be between 18 and 25.
- Upashastri students who pass out from/studying Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University can also apply.

- First, go to the official website of the Odisha State Scholarship Portal.
- Step 1 – Then click the Registration link for registration through the Aadhaar number and mobile number linked with that Aadhaar number. Existing users can click on the login button.
- Step 2 – Enter the Aadhaar number and proceed further for registration.
- Step 3 – Check the mobile (i.e., linked with the Aadhaar number) or email to get the user ID and password.
- Step 4 – Now Select BYSY from the drop-down list of scholarships.
- Step 5 – Now you need to provide all necessary personal details and all necessary academic details.
