About Satya Scholarship Program
Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust (Trust) is a bright light for every student, established valuable educational institutions like Sat Paul Mittal School, which ranked among India’s top 25 schools by Education World India (2024-25), and No. 1 in Punjab for nine consecutive years.
Among them, the Horizon School of Excellence in Ludhiana district is set to provide free quality education for students who belong to diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
The Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust was established in 1983 by the Late Shri Sat Paul Mittal as a tribute to India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Since its inception, the Trust has supported over 26,500 students through scholarships and awards, disbursing more than Rs 9.50 crore. It has successfully benefited 70% of girls and enabled 76% of youth to gain employment through vocational training.

Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible student should have passed Class 12 board exams from the Ludhiana district.
- Students should have a minimum score of 60%.
- Applicant must be a citizen and resident of India.
- Parents’ annual income from all sources should not exceed INR 5 Lakh. For orphaned students, the guardian’s total income must also be within the INR 5 Lakh limit.
- Preference is given to girls, athletes (at the state, national, or international level), persons with disabilities, orphans, and children of single parents.
- Scholars are required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance, demonstrate good conduct, and achieve at least a 6 GPA or 60% marks to remain eligible for the scholarship.

Scholarship Reward
- The selected candidate will receive a scholarship amount the full duration of the UG courses, including integrated courses of up to 5 years.
- 100% tuition fee will be covered by the scholarship.
- Tuition fee will be reimbursed directly to the student’s or parent’s bank account.
- If you need to stay on campus, scholars may apply for hostel and mess charges, which may be considered by the Trust on a case-by-case basis.
- After graduating and securing suitable employment, Satya Scholars are expected to voluntarily commit to continuously supporting at least one student through school or college education.
