The main aim of this program is to enhance the motivation of students in the field of research and development. This olympiad program promotes interest and develops skills in the fields of science and technology among Class 9 and 10 students.

The top 05 (five) students of any school of West Bengal recognized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, or any non-government school sponsored or aided by the West Bengal government, can apply for this scholarship. Students will be selected based on the marks of class 8th-class examination.

Selected students will receive a Cash prize as well as they will get an opportunity for research and development work under the JBNSTS organization.

Layer 1 (Intra Unit Competition)Top 5 students of Class 9th from any school will be considered.
Each student must be nominated by the Head of Institution (H.M./A.H.M./T.I.C).

Eligible Schools: Any Government schools under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or any Non-Government school Aided or Sponsored by the West Bengal government.
Based on nomination (Class VIII results)
Layer 2 (Intra District Competition)Top 10% of students from each unit (Block/Municipality/Borough) scoring at least 30% in Layer 1 examination will be considered for layer 2.

Students scoring 50% or more in Layer 1 qualify directly for Layer 2.
Minimum 30% marks (or 50% for direct qualification)
